The Profile of a Muslim (Mu’min) according to the Qurʾān

Bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm.

As-salāmū’alaykum.

Who doesn’t want to be a Mu’min? But the question is HOW? Here’s the secret:

The Profile of a Muslim (Mu’min) according to the Qurʾān ―

❝qad ʾaflaḥa l-muʾminūn
alladhīna hum fī ṣālātihim khāshiʿūn
wa-lladhīna hum ʿani l-laghwi muʿriḍūn
wa-lladhīna hum li-z-zakāti fāʿilūn
wa-lladhīna hum li-furūjihim ḥāfiẓūn
ʾillā ʿalā ʾazwājihim ʾaw mā malakat ʾaymānuhum fa-ʾinnahum ghayru malūmīn
fa-mani btaghā warāʾa dhālika fa-ʾulāʾika humu l-ʿādūn
wa-lladhīna hum li-ʾamānātihim wa-ʿahdihim rāʿūn
wa-lladhīna hum ʿalā ṣalawātihim yuḥāfiẓūn
ʾulāʾika humu l-wārithūn
alladhīna yarithūna l-firdawsa hum fīhā khālidūn❞
― Sūrah al-Muʾminūn (The Faithful), Chapter 23, verse 1-11.

Successful indeed are the believers.
— those who are humble in their Salāh (prayers),
— those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allāh has forbidden).
— those who carry out their [duty of] zakāt.
— those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts).
(except from their spouses or their slave women, for then they are not blameworthy;
but whoever seeks [anything] beyond that —it is they who are transgressors)
— those who keep their trusts and covenants,
— and those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salāt (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).
It is they who will be the inheritors,
who shall inherit paradise, and will remain in it [forever].
